Because of its retro nature, weight, lack of ergonomic hand grip and so on the Nikon Zf camera is "not recommended" by many reviewers for sports photography. I used my Zf with a 300mm f2.8 lens at a football match recently to see if they were right. OK, it's not ideal for hand-holding with a long heavy lens, but on a monopod it was no problem at all. The eye-detection autofocus was great, the continuous shutter speed was much faster than my DSLRs can manage, the colour rendition was very good. All in all I am quite happy to use this camera for football photography. At the end of the month I shall be going to the Silverstone Classic so I shall be able to see how this camera copes with fast moving race cars.
